The Art Center and Gallery are officially open to the public now. It has been quite the roller coaster ride since we started this whole process. Let's go back in time and review.
Flashback: April 2011
Ashland Out Loud. We (Ashland Artist Group) hold our very first "meeting" at The Copper Kettle. The intent at the time was to let local artists know there were a group of us that wanted to get together on a regular basis and do art. Those first meetings were a "get to know you" format, with an artist either presenting their work to the group or conducting a hands on workshop. We did paintings, gourd carving, and altered books, to mention a few. We also decided that if nothing else we would establish a scholarship for So. Boone Co. graduating seniors who were pursuing art related degrees.
Done and done.
